Article: Seuss and Lovecraft: the Existential Quest

Abstract: The bizarre landscapes, creatures, locations, and abstract logic of Dr. Seuss books bears more than a passing resemblance to the dream cycle stories of H. P. Lovecraft. We draw out common themes between a particular Dr. Seuss book and Lovecraft’s dream quests, and show the distinction between Seuss and Lovecraft occurs at the resolution of the story.
